What’s your favorite part of working with students?
Every student I've ever worked with has a really unique story and motivation for why they do what they do. Being able to talk to students and hear their perspectives is something that I enjoy and value on a personal level. Guiding students and providing them with the scaffolding to advance in their lives, just like how mentors did with me when I was in school, is work that I deeply appreciate and like to give back every day.
What’s a place that changed your perspective—and how?
My path to FSU was through FSUIP's first year abroad program in Valencia, Spain. Starting out as a university student in a whole other continent dramatically widened the number of perspectives on life from different people that I got to see. I was able to connect with my family members that live abroad, as well as people that I'd normally never have gotten the chance to meet.
What’s your go-to local restaurant or coffee shop in Tallahassee?
San Miguel on the corner of Tharpe and Monroe is one of my favorite restaurants, not just in Tallahassee, but that I've ever been to. I love going out to restaurants as often as I can in order to try out as many as possible, but San Miguel is the place that makes me come back on a regular basis with their really nice staff. Woodchuck's Cafe is my second go-to for a really good breakfast and lunch as well.
